The latest work from the German tuner Steinmetz, is their Opel Insignia SportsTourer which will make its debut at Tuning World Bodensee 2009. At the Essen Motor Show in 2008, the standard Opel Insignia was introduced by Steinmetz, however the new model received several improvements. The exterior received a new front spoiler, front grille, and an exclusive two piece roof spoiler. New ST7 20″ alloy wheels available in white or black finish are an option, and come wrapped in 245/35 R20. To complement the wheels, a lowering kit was installed that dropped the vehicle about 25mm or 1 inch.

The two piece roof spoiler along with the signature exhaust by Steinmetz gives the rear a stronger look. Performance upgrades are soon to be released by Klasen-Motors and the numbers are impressive. From the factory the Insignia comes with 220hp but with a few modifications they were able to achieve 290 horses with 420Nm of torque. Parts include a larger intercooler, 3″ turbo back exhaust, sport catalyst, and tuning the ECU. For the 2.0 CDTI there has also been news of a diesel performance upgrade and that will premiere at the Opel Meeting in Oschersleben.
